Timber Falls = 8/10

Well, just when we thought all the good horror flicks were done this year, comes 'Timber Falls' directed by Tony Giglio and starring Josh Randall, Brianna Brown, and Breth "Sabrina The Teenage Witch" Broderick.

The film starts off like every other slasher flick, an unknown couple getting tortured/chased by an unknown killer for an unknown reason. They die. Credits Start.

Then we get introduced, to Mike and Sheryl who are Boyfriend/Girlfriend in their late 20's. They begin hiking, and the character development starts. We learn, Sheryl is a great girlfriend who cares for Mike and is a nurse. Mike is a great husband, but dosen't know if he's ready to commit to marriage. Anyways the couple hike until they get to the middle of about 5 trails to choose from. Then comes Ida (Beth Broderick) a nice friendly stranger who lives nearby, she introduces herself and helps them choose, the traile of 'Timber Falls' because of the views and privacy. They head on up and set up camp. Then later on they have the usually slasher sex in the tent. Cut to morning, where Sheryl goes off swimming in the lake, then is kidnapped. Mike goes out to look for her and gets caught in a bear trap, he faints. He wakes up at Ida's house, and quickly learns Ida and her family aren't as kind as they thought. What Ida and her family want is a baby, that Ida cannot do, because she has a problem, although they did keep the babies that had died in jars.
We also quickly learn that the family is VERY religious.

The movie is a great flick, and is easily able to keep the viewer entertained. It has very few boring parts, actually it has none. It has great acting, from all the characters. It also has lots of gore and blood, one scene that will make you look away. It is easily the most original film this year, and it definetly makes the top 5horror flicks of the year! Also, the girl on the poster is not Sheryl she is a girl named Sarah that we know nothing about and she randomly appears in the beginning. My only problem is, basically the ending, it was kinda predictable, but other than that i can't wait to buy the dvd! It is really sad that this has gotten a limited release, it does not deserve limited at all. If this film is playin near you, make sure you go check it out, and enjoy the ride.
